Red Bull Energy Drink’s new home in Santa Monica, CA, required major renovations to a 1950s-era brick building. To create an interior courtyard, HLW International oversaw the demolition of a section of the building’s original roof. Within the courtyard, a non-functioning skateboard ramp was constructed, measuring 40′ in width and 250′ in length, with offices and conference spaces beneath. The massive 10-ton door for the ramp was manufactured by Schweiss Doors of Fairfax, MN and operates using two electric motors and eight lift straps.

Shigeru Ban, the Japanese architectural firm behind the Metal Shutter House project in Manhattan, collaborated with Schweiss Doors to bring their vision of a “window-wall” that could showcase the stunning New York City skyline to life. The goal was to create a connection with the outside world and Schweiss Lift-Strap Bifold Doors were the perfect solution to make this happen. The bespoke designer doors blend seamlessly into the living space and give the owners the ability to instantly alter the ambiance of the room with the simple push of a button.

Leo Kingston’s Oklahoma City single level home boasts an impressive garage that is sure to catch the eye. The stunning epoxy floor, typically reserved for interior spaces, complements the modern design of the walls and ceiling. The pièce de résistance is the Schweiss hydraulic glass designer door, which measures 15.3′ x 7.1′ and features electric photo eye sensors and a remote opener. To support the weight of the glass and ensure stability, Kingston opted for a freestanding header that connects to I-beams at the side and header of the door. Additionally, he raised the garage ceiling from 9 ft. to 13 ft. to accommodate a stackable car lift.

The residents of the 23-story Soma Towers in Belleview, Washington, which houses 273 units, can now enjoy an outdoor piazza thanks to the addition of Schweiss bifold designer glass doors. The larger of the two bifold doors measures 16.5′ x 7.9′, while the other has a clear opening of 14.10′ x 7.25′. Equipped with automatic latches, electric photo eye sensors, door base safety edges, and an emergency backup system, both doors offer convenience and safety. The Soma Towers is one of over 50 projects completed by Su Development, located in Bellevue, Washington, within the greater Seattle area.
